Video for Avril Lavigne's "Mobile" Released 10 Years After it was Created

Idolator.com just posted a previously unreleased music video for Avril Lavigne's "Mobile", a song from her debut album that was created 10 years ago.

The music video was originally made in hopes of making "Mobile" Avril's first single in Australia, a plan that never took off.

It's kind of weird to see the music video 10 years after it was set to be released. It's a much more stripped down version of the Avril we have today. She is wearing a pair of baggy jeans and a fitted orange t-shirt. The video itself is rather simple, featuring the singer walking around a desert atmosphere.

You can watch the video for "Mobile" below:

Over the years Avril has been criticized for "selling out" or becoming too glamorous. I never really thought that was much of the case. Yeah, Avril may have gotten a little less rebellious and a little more pretty and girly. It's called growing up. I still think she has that edginess and angst in her and I can still see that in both her music and wardrobe. It's just a little more adult looking now.

I would like to see Avril do a more stripped down music video for her new album, though. "Mobile" was very simple, but still very good. There aren't many music videos out now that can be both simple and good. It would be neat to see Avril go back to her roots like that and make simple cool again.

What do you think about the old school Avril video?

Miley Cyrus Recieves Backlash for Sexy New Music Video

Miley Cyrus recently debuted a new music video for her new single, "Who Owns My Heart?", and if you thought her "Can't Be Tamed", video was bad, that's nothing compared to this!

The video features a scantily clad Cyrus laying on a bed, seemingly inviting a lover over for sex. The video then shifts to a bathroom scene with a less-than-half dressed Cyrus leaning against the tub. This part of the video reminds me of Britney Spears' "Every time" video, not good, considering shortly after Spears shot that video she suffered from a major breakdown.

Following the bathroom scene Cyrus goes clubbing and is seen making out with and being grouped by several men and women. The video repeats all three scenes various times.

Let me remind you that Miley Cyrus is 17---still a minor.

Many parents and groups are outraged over Cyrus' sexy, possibly R rated music video.

The Parents Television Council has stated their disgust. They are particularly disappointed that Cyrus would choose to behave this way when she knows that a majority of her fan base is made up of young kids.

The video can be seen below:

What do you think of Cyrus' new music video? Is it too sexy for a 17 year old? Do you agree with The Parents Television Council, or do you think everyone is just over-reacting?

As Teen Hearing Loss Rises, Academic Performance Falters While Music Sales Soar?

Kimberly Cheng, a reporter for the news channel, KPSP Channel 2 News, just posted a completely bogus news story linking MINOR teenage hearing loss to poor academic performance. In her article, she claims that research conducted by Time proves that teenage hearing loss has been linked to slowing language development, lack of self esteem, and overall poor academic performance.

Once again, the blame for increasing hearing loss is no other than the music teens listen to.

As someone who has had a SIGNIFICANT hearing loss their entire life, I completely disagree with this story. I have lost over half of my hearing ability. In some high frequency sounds, I am completely death. I can not hear the difference between the words "shoes" and "choose", and so I pronounce them the same way.

My hearing disability has never really affected my academic performance. I graduated in the top 15% of my high school class with honors and a member of National Honor Society. I then completed my first two years of college at Gloucester County College, where I maintained a 4.0 average for much of time there. I graduated with honors, on time, and although help from student services was offered (such as note takers and translators), I never accepted it. I did all of my work on my own.

I am now transferring to Rowan University. I am double majoring in English and Journalism with a concentration in Creative Writing. If my language skills were so poor, wouldn't I have opted for a different major? I mean, clearly hearing impaired students can't read or write well.

Oh, and what do I do when I'm not in school? I definitely don't just sit around and cry myself to sleep because of my lack of self esteem. One of my favorite hobbies is GASP! listening to music! In fact, I am listening to Katy Perry's "California Gurls", as I write this. I am constantly playing music on my computer, radio, or really anywheres. I love to see my favorite musicians perform live. So far I have seen Britney Spears, O-town, Michelle Branch, American Idol 2 (season that had Clay Aiken...), American Idol 4 (season that had Carrie Underwood), American Idol 6 (season that had Jordin Sparks), Teddy Geiger, Tinted Windows, Cooper, No Doubt, Good Charlotte, Forever the Sickest Kids, Simple Plan, and several of my friends bands. I plan on seeing many more shows in the very near future. Clearly I am hearing impaired because of my love of music, not because of genetics or anything like that, despite what dozens of medical tests have proven...

OK, I think I'm done with this little rant of mine. I might just drop a line to this News Source though. Maybe they would like to hear my side of this story.

Thoughts?

Hayley Williams and B.O.B-The best Duo that's Never Met.

Fun fact of the day:

While Hayley Williams and B.O.B. have one of the hottest songs of the year for their duet, "Airplanes", the duo has never actually met in person!

Perezhilton.com has stated that the duo recorded both the song and music video separately and while they have communicated via twitter, both are still waiting to meet in person.

Williams has joked that the song will be performed live via Skype. Hopefully the couple will be able to actually meet in person and perform it together, though!

Check out the video for "Airplanes" below. Now that you know the couple recorded their parts separately, does it change how you feel about the video?

It kind of makes sense to me to see it now. I mean Hayley Williams and B.O.B. pretty much never appear in the same shot together except for a few of the photographs, which would be very easy to photoshop together. Overall they still did an excellent job shooting the video considering the duo never met, though.
