Video for Avril Lavigne's "Mobile" Released 10 Years After it was Created

Idolator.com just posted a previously unreleased music video for Avril Lavigne's "Mobile", a song from her debut album that was created 10 years ago.

The music video was originally made in hopes of making "Mobile" Avril's first single in Australia, a plan that never took off.

It's kind of weird to see the music video 10 years after it was set to be released. It's a much more stripped down version of the Avril we have today. She is wearing a pair of baggy jeans and a fitted orange t-shirt. The video itself is rather simple, featuring the singer walking around a desert atmosphere.

You can watch the video for "Mobile" below:

Over the years Avril has been criticized for "selling out" or becoming too glamorous. I never really thought that was much of the case. Yeah, Avril may have gotten a little less rebellious and a little more pretty and girly. It's called growing up. I still think she has that edginess and angst in her and I can still see that in both her music and wardrobe. It's just a little more adult looking now.

I would like to see Avril do a more stripped down music video for her new album, though. "Mobile" was very simple, but still very good. There aren't many music videos out now that can be both simple and good. It would be neat to see Avril go back to her roots like that and make simple cool again.

What do you think about the old school Avril video?

Avril Lavigne Prepares for New Album, "Goodbye Lullaby"

Avril Lavigne's much anticipated fourth album, "Goodbye Lullaby" is almost ready for release!

The singer debuted a 30 second teaser for her first single, "What the Hell" earlier this week. The song has much of the same energy and sounds as her last album, "The Best Damn Thing". The full single is set to be released on New Year's Eve during the annual Dick Clark New Year's Eve special and the entire album is scheduled to be released on March 8, 2011.

The 30 second clip of "What the Hell" can be heard below:

The set list was also released today. It is as follows:

1. Black Star
2. What The Hell
3. Push
4. Wish You Were Here
5. Smile
6. Stop Standing There
7. I Love You
8. Everybody Hurts
9. Not Enough
10. 4 Real
11. Darlin
12. Remember When
13. Goodbye
14. Alice (hidden track)

In addition, the album and first single's cover art was revealed. In both covers, Avril looks rather tough, angry, and just simply edgy. It lost much of the glamour that was seen from "The Best Damn Thing"'s cover art. The pictures are below:

Based on the 30-second clip of the first single, the names of the confirmed tracks, and the album's artwork, it looks as if this album will be a combination of the different sounds from Avril's previous three records. I'm hoping for a few darker sounding tracks, a la "Under My Skin". "Under My Skin" was my favorite Avril Lavigne album thus far and I really appreciated her darker music. "The Best Damn Thing" was ok, but I think Avril sounds better when she is singing darker, edgier music than when she tries to be more preppy and pop sounding.

Are you excited about Avril's new album? Will you buy it? What do you think of the 30-second clip from her new single, "What the Hell"?

New Avril Lavigne Music is on it's Way!

According to JustJared.com, Avril Lavigne recently released a statement promising new music in the near future.

In the statement, Lavigne apologizes for the delay which she blames on the need of inspiration so that she can write her own original work. She also explains that she has enough material for two whole albums, making it sound as if she is now in the process of sorting out the songs and slimming down the list.

Lavigne ended her statement by announcing that the new single should be chosen and released soon.

This will be Lavigne's first album since 2007's "The Best Damn Thing".

Are you still a fan of Lavigne? Are you excited about her new music?
