Lady Gaga's Creates a New Hair Style!

Lady Gaga recently made the news after sporting this hair-bow hairstyle. Many sources such as TMZ and Perez Hilton have been criticizing it, but I actually really like it. It's so unique and original. I love Lady Gaga's style! What do you guys think, yay or nay?

Idol Controversy? Already? Yes!

Season 8 of American Idol may have just began, but there's already some controvery going on with the contestants!

First off we have Casey Carlson in bikini pictures, looking rather seductive. Not as much of a controversy as Antonella Barber's photos or Frenchie Davis's pornography, but still enough to make her lose her "sweet girl" image. At least she did it for a good reason...to make calendars to be sold to raise money for breast cancer research.

Next up is Emily Wynne-Hughes who has a much more serious controversy. Hughes is being forced to wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet due to her dui arrest. Sources are saying that this incindent may have caused the judges to eliminate her in the Hollywood rounds of auditions. Good news for me, I really didn't like her.

American Idol 8 Kansas City Auditions Review

Kansas City was ok. I think the judges let a lot of terrible singers in though, which I really don't understand. There were a few really good singers though. I think I might have enjoyed last night's Phoenix auditions more.

Here are some of the singers that stood out the most for me, for better or for worst.

Ashley Anderson. I thought she was pretty good. She automatically scored points with Simon for choicing a song that he produced, or was somehow involved with. This is her myspace
. I think her myspace shows more of who she really is. I could barely recognize on her myspace. I like the songs on her myspace better than her audition song, too. She's really unique. I hope she makes it far.

Casey Carlson. She's a very pretty girl. I think she has potential, but I absolutely
HATED her version of Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles". I guess I'm a little biased though. "A Thousand Miles" is one of my favorite songs and her version just sounded so different.

Von Smith. There's a lot of buzz going on about him in cyber city. I don't get it. I think he's awful. I'm shocked that the judges all liked him and put him through. Supposively he built up a big fan base based on his youtube videos. I'm listening to one of them right now, and it's not much better than his audition. Here's the video, what do you guys think? Yay or Nay?

Jason Castro's little brother Michael auditioned. I was shocked by how different he looks and acts than Jason. Kara was right, he is a bit "cocky" and "ballsy". lol. He has this really agressive in-your-face attitude. I liked him, but not nearly as much as I like Jason. From spoilers I have learned that he gets cut in one of the Hollywood rounds.

Jasmine Johnson. I thought the judges were a little harsh. I was surprised she didn't make it through. She's obviously not great but I didn't think she was that bad either. She was a hell of a lot better than Von Smith! I hated how cocky she was after she got rejected. I hate when people are like that. Her attitude kind of ruined everything.

Jessica Furney. I thought she over-did the vocals a little bit, but overall she was really good. I love her personality and the simpleness she has. I hope she goes far.

Anoop DeSai, or as he told Randy to call him, "Anoop Dog". I don't really like his personality, but he has a really nice voice. I don't see him as being one to make it far in the compeition, though.

Danny Gokey! I love this guy! Probably my favorite audition so far. He has an incredible voice and is such a sweet guy! He kind of reminds me of a straight version of Jim Verraros. I probably shouldn't say that though because I'm one of the only ones that liked Jim Verraros' voice. I guess they aren't all that similar vocal-wise, but they have similar personalities. I reallly hope he gets into the top 36!

Asa Barnes. I thought he was really good. Joe's Place says that he got into the top 75 in season 4 of American Idol, but was later cut in Hollywood round when they do the thing with the rooms. Let's hope he makes it further this time around!

Dennis Brigham. Simon hated him, but all of the other judges liked him. I have to agree with Simon on this one. Seriously, what were the other judges thinking? This guy is awful! I'm pretty confident that he won't make it past the hollywood rounds.

Lil Rounds...obviously I posted her wrong on in previous post. lol. She was really good. I don't think she was as good as everyone is making her out to be, but she was still good. She reminds me a lot of Latoya London from season 3. She'll definitely make it into the top 36.

India Morrison. When she first did the rap with her sister I thought she was going to be terrible. However, when she sung by herself she was really good and I really ended up liking her. I think the judges made the right decision by only letting India through. Her sister was so sweet to be so supportive though. India's a good singer, but I don't see her making it through Hollywood week.

American Idol 8 Phoenix Auditions Review

After seeing the first of the season 8 American Idol auditions I'm feeling very optimsitic about this season. I think there were several great singers tonight and also some that have great personalities. Here is a review of some singers I liked and didn't like.

Deanna Brown. At first I thought she was going to be incredibly annoying like Paris Hilton or Kellie Pickler, but I actually ended up really liking her voice. I think she'll make it into the top 36.

Katrina Darrell AKA "Bikini Girl"

She is annoying as hell. Total and complete slut. She only got through because she wore a bikini and Randy and Simon thought she was hot. She can't sing at all. Kara was right. I'm kind of glad she feuded with Kara, though. I didn't like Kara at first and I thought having a fourth judge was completely unnecessary especially since she seemed so much like Paula. However, after watching her feud with Bikini Girl, I now have a new found respect for her. lol.

Michael Sarver. He was alright. I was suprised at how soft and calm his voice sounded. I expected him to have a deeper, edgier, more rock sound voicing. I guess that was just a stereotypical observation though because of his dangerous occupation and all. He was ok, but I don't see him making it to the top 36.

Arianna Afsar. She was awesome. She's so sweet too! I'd be very suprised if she didn't make it into at least the top 36. I think we'll be seeing her in the top 12 this year.

Amy Wynne-Hughes
Urgh! I hate her! It sounds like she screeched through her whole song! How did she get through???

I don't have a picture or video, but I really loved Lea Marie Golde. She sang "Everytime We Touch" by Cascada and brought a huge binder filled with over 100 songs that she wrote for Kara. I'm suprised she didn't get in. I thought she was pretty good and a diligent worker.

I also really enjoyed Stevie Wright. It took me awhile to get used to how different she made "At Last" sound though. She had a really different voice. I think I'd like her more if I heard her sing a different song.

Scott Macintyre served as the heart-warming sob-story of the night. Of course he got through, but he truly deserved it. It's great to see a blind guy who has to work 10 times harder than the other contestants get through. It's even greater when the blind guy is more talented than most of the other contestants. I hope he goes really far on this show.

Well I think that's about all for now. Look for more Idol updates after tomorrow's show!

New season of American Idol and new Kelly Clarkson song premiere today!

You can hear the new Kelly Clarskson song, "My Life Would Suck Without You" here!

I love it! I was a fan of "Never Again", but this song is much better! Kelly Clarkson is back!

Here are the lyrics:
Guess this means you’re sorry
You’re standing at my door
Guess this means you take back
What you said before
Like how much you wanted
Anyone but me
Said you’d never come back
But here you are again
Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you
Maybe I was stupid for telling you goodbye
Maybe I was wrong for tryin’ to pick a fight
I know that I’ve got issues
But you’re pretty messed up too
Anyway, I found out I’m nothing without you
Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you
Being with you is so dysfunctional
I really shouldn’t miss you, but I can’t let go
Oh yeah
Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you

Music to my ears!

Club Libby Lu is closing ALL of it's stores!

No more walking by it in the mall and gagging on it's awful scents!
No more turning innocent little girls into annoying preppies!
Hallelujah!

David Cook's on the road to a broken heart!

Yep. It looks like David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell's relationship is just about over. According to AOL News, while David Cook was shopping for an engagement ring for Kimberly, she was out partying and hooking up with the club's bartender!

Poor David! He must be crushed!

I always knew Ken was gay!

There's always been something strange about Ken. Barbie was a slut, but Ken was just odd. Maybe it was just he seemed too into himself and quiet compared to Barbie? Barbie had friends like Theresea and Skipper (or was Skipper her sister?), and Ken only had Barbie. They never even seemed to be like a good couple. Barbie was a slut and Ken never seemed to be enough for Barbie. It only makes sense for Ken to be gay.

LemonDrop recently posted information about a book all about Barbie's creators that is coming out soon. The book is said to reveal information about the son of Mattell's founder, whom Ken was based upon. The mattel founder's son lived a secret gay life and eventually died of aids. Sounds like Ken had it rough.

Why Don't I remember this guy?

Branden Weaver from American Idol 7...

Here's a picture from the show:

He sent me a friend request on myspace and I listened to his music and I really liked it. I searched for him on YouTube and also on google, but I didn't really find anything. I can't believe that I just forgot about him. I have no memory of him being on American Idol last season at all. He's so good though! He obviously didn't go very far last season or else there would be more information out about him. How could the judges have passed up someone so good????

I'm sending him a Myspace comment!

Here's the preview of my comment:
Hey Branden!

Thanks for the add, it made my day actually! I am a complete American Idol fanatic, and I am more than ashamed to admit that I don't remember you at all. =(. I'm so glad that you added me though. Your music is amazing! I can't believe you didn't go further on American Idol! The judges are crazy! You're better than like 90% of the contestants! And I must admit, you are quite attractive. ;). Good luck in all that you do and thanks for the add and more importantly, thanks for adding a smile to my face, music to my ears, and being the highlight of my day!

Check out my blog if you ever get the chance:
www. whatspoppininpopculture. blogspot. com

Check him out and add him as a friend here . I love his songs "Get out of this town" and "Sucker for a blonde". "Dreams" is ok, but not nearly as good as the other two songs.

Chris Sligh's mess of a music video

Chris Sligh is back of making a mess of music. urgh. I don't like him. I never really have liked him. He's funny and that's about all he has going for him. He should be a comedian, or an actor, not a musician. This song sounds awful and the music video looks so odd. I mean look at those girls dancing behind him. They look so out of place. Those are the type of girls that should be behind in JT in one of his videos, not behind Chris Sligh...a big mess of a blob...

Here's the video, but I'll warn you, it's not very good or worth listening to...at all.

Glocksen is still rockin'!

Mjsbigblog just posted Gina Glocksen's, a season six compeitor's song, "List of Regrets". They say it was inspired by Pink. I think it has the same energy as Pink's music, but it sounds different vocal wise. Pink has a very distinctive voice. I can't think of anyone else that has a voice like hers. The background music is kind of similar though. I love it. Gina Glocksen was my second favorite contestant on season six of American Idol (Blake was of course my number one favorite that season). I'd love to buy her album when it comes out. Give her song a listening over at mjsbigblog
