Anorexic Model, Isabelle Caro, Dies at Age 28 ***Warning: Post Includes Disturbing Images***

HuffingtonPost.com just posted a story announcing the death of French actress/model, Isabelle Carlo. Daniele Dubreuil-Prevot, Caro's acting instructor served as a spokesperson announcing that Caro passed away on November 17th after traveling from Japan back home to France.


Dubreuil-Prevot was vague with details regarding Caro's death, but the model/actress has suffered from anorexia since she was 13, and Dubreuil-Prevot stated that Caro "Had been sick for a very long time".

Disturbing photographs of the paper-thin actress/model were released for an anti-anorexia ad campaign in Italy in 2007. The pictures can be seen below:






Carlo appeared on the television showThe Price of Beauty where she discussed her struggles with anorexia. She has been quoted as saying that one of her fashion designers was partially to blame for her anorexia, as she was told she would need to "lose 10 kilos if you want to be in the fashion world" (10 kilos is equal to approximately 23 pounds). After hearing this, Caro literally starved herself, refusing to eat anything, causing an eating disorder that Carlo failed to recover from.

Caro's anorexia gave her several near-death experiences in the past. In 2006, Caro's weight dropped to just 55 pounds and she ended up in a coma. At the time, it seemed very unlikely that Carlo would survive. Her survival was deemed nothing short of a miracle, and Carlo was then determined to beat her anorexia by slowly eating more and more.

Some other side effects of Caro's disease were extremely brittle hair that constantly fell out, tooth loss, and dried out skin. Caro had this to say about her appearance in the past, "I'm not beautiful, my hair is ruined and I know I will never have long hair again. I've lost several teeth. My skin is dry. My breasts have fallen. No young girl wants to look like a skeleton...You couldn't believe anyone would want to look like that. I don't think there's any question about it."

Caro also tried to raise awareness about her disorder by organizing a law to send to Parliament against the use of dangerously thin models. Such a law would help to crack down on anorexia in the modeling world, because dangerously underweight models would be prohibited from modeling until they gained a certain amount of weight. Unfortunately, Caro never fully recovered from her disorder and lost her battle on November 17, 2010.

This news absolutely breaks my heart and fills me with a heightened sense of rage against our society. What can we say about a society that pushes individuals to lose so much weight, to look a certain way, that it literally kills them? This is really not right. Beauty is not skin deep. Beauty is not all about physical attributes. It's so much deeper than that. It's about making a difference in the world. It's about being a good person. It's about doing well for others and yourself. There is nothing about Isabelle Caro's anorexia that was beautiful. I would love to know the name of the designer that told Caro to lose weight. I'd love to see what she has to say now. Yes, I'm sure Caro had other problems long before that comment was made, but at the same time, that designer definitely triggered Caro's eating disorder. That designer is definitely someone deserving of blame for her death. I truly think that if nothing else, that designer should lose her job over this.

I hope that the sad tragedy of Isabelle Caro is never lost. I hope that this is a story that people will remember for a long time...the story of a model who was once beautiful, but was made to feel ugly. A beautiful model who, thanks to one stupid comment, could not see her own beauty, and was literally destroyed while trying to search for and achieve something she had right from the beginning. I hope that everyone remembers the work and awareness that Caro tried to bring about for anorexia prior to her death. Our world needs stricter modeling laws/rules and regulations. No model should ever be 55 pounds like Caro was. There is nothing beautiful about that at all. Any model that is below normal weight should not be allowed to model at all. By accepting underweight models...and telling these underweight models to lose more weight, modeling agencies are single-handily causing eating disorders to occur. This is an extreme tragedy that really shouldn't even exist at all. Our society needs to really come together now and help prevent this from occurring in the future.

Justin Bieber Embrances His Feminine Side With New Nail Polish Line

Justin Bieber recently announced his plans to partner up with the popular nail polish brand, OPI's Nicole. The line will be called "One Less Lonely Girl" and will be sold by Walmart beginning in December, just in time for Christmas. After the holiday season the nail polish will be made more readily available at Target, Sears, and Ulta.

The colors will have names based on the pop star's songs. The colors are as followed:

One Less Lonely Glitter-Lavender
Prized Possession (Purple)
Give Me the First Dance (Silver)
Me + Blue (Dark Blue)

No price has been released for these nail polishes yet, but OPI's Nicole Nail polishes usually run between $7-$8 per bottle.

The whole Justin Bieber nail polish line is a little too weird for me to comprehend. I think there's a point in time where you need to draw the line for which products to endorse, and for Bieber, this is one of those times. I wonder if Bieber will get caught wearing his own nail polish. It wouldn't surprise me, I mean, he already sings like a girl, why not look like one too?

Would You Like Some Spray On Clothes for that Spray On Tan? That Can Be Arranged...

According to omg-facts.com, clothing now comes available in a spray can. You can just simply spray on a shirt like you would spray on your favorite fake tan.

The spray is made from a bunch of different chemicals, that when mixed together create a cotton-y substance. The chemicals are said to feel really cold when sprayed on, and it is not recommended to use the spray to make pants or under garments for this reason.

Although the company claims that the clothes will be washable and reusable, I highly doubt that this statement is true. As one can see from viewing the video, the clothes look really cheap. If I ever made a spray-on shirt, I would be afraid of having it fall apart.


Another one of my initial reactions to this product was that the chemicals would pose a health risk. However, this hardly seems to be a problem, as the creative makers of this product are also claiming that the spray can be used for band-aids as well as other health care products.

Famed clothing designer, Christian Louboutin, has recently announced his plans to debute a new line of sneakers. The sneakers will feature many unique patterns and designs with the use of animal prints, rhinestones, studs, and spikes, a very similar and unique mixture of designs frequently seen on Louboutin's signature heels.

However, if you're expecting to get a good deal on Louboutin sneakers, think again! These sneakers make Louboutin heels look cheap! Louboutin heels are known to run anywheres between $500-$2,000, while these sneakers actually run to about $2,400 a pair!

I love the way these sneakers look, but not for that price!!

Making Your Male Model Wear Shorts This Short Should Be Cruel and Unusual Punishment.

Nope, your eyes are not deciving you. That is fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld's male model, Baptiste Giabiconi. This photograph was taken in St. Tropez on Friday where Giabiconi and Lagerfeld were photographed talking and walking around.

It is unknown whether or not Giabiconi was wearing the getup for a photoshoot for one of Lagerfeld's lines or if he willingy chose to wear those short shorts. I'm not sure which is worst. Willfully choosing to wear this getup is bad taste on Giabiconi's side. Being forced by Lagerfeld to wear them seems like cruel and unusual punishment that makes me pity Giabiconi.

No man should ever wear shorts that short. Ever.

Glee Clothing Line Available at Macy's Starting on Sunday

JustJared.com just recently posted news that a Glee-inspired clothing line will be available at Macy's starting this Sunday, August 15th. The clothing line will contain signature items that the cast is known to wear, such as cheerio uniform tops, Sue Sylvestor's athletic wear, skirts that Rachel Berry is known to wear, and basic t-shirts that feature the show's logo and name. The prices will range from $19.99-$34.99.

Are you planning on buying Glee inspired clothes? Which items are you most excited for? Personally I would like to pick up a few of the basic t's, especially the "Don't Stop Believing" one and I am also excited to see the Rachel Berry inspired items.

Snuggies Are So Last Year...Which is Why There Are Now Snuggie Suits...

Last year snuggies became the "it" item as they began popping up in store, after store, after store. They finished off the year by becoming one of the most popular Christmas gifts to give, request, and receive this past Christmas. Now, in 2010, fashion designers are turning to the snuggie for inspiration, and in turn, have invented the Snuggie Suit!

The snuggie suit looks like footed pajamas...minus the feet. The top is designed like a comfy hotel plush robe, with comfy velvet pants attached.

Female snuggie lovers will love the new addition to the snuggie family...however they appear a little too feminine for most men. If the makers of the snuggie suit wish to sell their product to men, they will definitely need to make some of their suits less feminine and more manly.

New Shoes, or New Jeans? Why Not Have Both-Together?

Fashion designer Sebastian Errazuriz has just invented the greatest fashion article ever...the shoe pants!

The shoe pants consists of a flary, bell-bottomish pair of jeans with converse sneakers attached! Now you no longer have to waste time searching for your other shoe in the morning...as long as you can find your jeans, you'll have your shoes, too!

No word yet on when this fashion masterpiece will be released or how much it will sell for, but I definitely see this as being the next big fashion trend!

New in the Jewelry Industry is...Spongebob Squarepants?

Yes, it's true. Clothing designer, Russell Simmons recently annouced his plans to add a jewelry line devoted specifically to Spongebob. His line is said to be similar to Kimora Lee Simmon's Hello Kitty jewelry line, only for men. However, I think the jewelry still looks a bit too girly for most men to wear. It has not yet been stated when the jewelry will be availble for sale or how much it will cost, but considering it is being labled as "luxiorous", it will probably be a bit on the pricey side. Also, the brand's compeitor, Kimora Lee Simmons's Hello Kitty line, once designed a Hello Kitty necklace for Britney Spears that cost over $50,000. If Russell plans to keep up with his compeition then the price must be in about the same range.

My favorite piece is the last ring, though I'm not crazy with any of them to be honest. I wish they showed spongebob's whole face instead of just part of it and his eye. Also, I think Russell may have overdone it a bit with all of the flowers. I wonder if any of the other characters such as Patrick or Squidward will become a part of the jewerly line.

Miley Cyrus's Clothing Line Now Available at Walmart

The other day I was shopping at the Walmart in Deptford. I glanced by the clothing isles and found a giant display with Miley Cyrus' face on it. This is becoming the ordinary, as Miley Cyrus has practically been granted Queen of the World. I did not, however, know that she is now among the long list of celebrity clothing designers.

However, if you're looking for cute new clothes similar to the ones Cyrus actually wears, you will NOT find them in her clothing line. Her clothes are actually quite ugly. Her clothes consist of various printed t-shirts, plain shirts with vests attached to them, plaid, and colored/printed jeans. A majority of her jeans are skinny jeans. In addition, Cyrus' clothing line has various athletic wear. The clothes are relatively cheap since they are for sale at Walmart. Most of the pants are $20 and most of the shirts are between $7-$10. Cyrus also has a handful of ugly printed leggings for $10.
