It's Snooki...I mean "Nicole".

Nicole Polizzi, known to most as simply, "Snooki" on MTV's The Jersey Shore, wants to forget about the nickname that helped to make her so famous. In an article posted by US Weekly, Polizzi stated, "I miss people calling me Nicole".

Calling the star of the Jersey Shore by her real name just doesn't seem natural. When the show debuted in the summer of 2009, Nicole went by her memorable nickname of "Snooki" and wore her signature "poof". She appeared to be more of a character than an actual person. She has since lost the poof, and with the loss of her nickname, is becoming more realistic and relatable. This poses the question, will a more realistic Jersey Shore character still be interesting?

A majority of the other characters on the show have nicknames as well, such as DJ Pauly D, The Situation, and Sammi Sweetheart. These nicknames help to give the cast an identity and make them more memorable. Those characters that are without a nickname, such as Ronnie and Vinny have not managed to garner nearly as much popularity as their nicknamed counterparts. Without her nickname, will Nicole still be as popular and relevant to the show, or will she sink back into a state of forgettable normalcy?

What do you think about Nicole's desire to drop her nickname? Do you think she is becoming too "normal" for a show like The Jersey Shore?

This Halloween, dress like your favorite whore/manwhore from the Jersey Shore!

CocoPerez.com has just posted an article about a new line of Jersey Shore inspired Halloween costumes debuting this year. The costumes are available for The Situation, Snookie and DJ Pauly D. The costumes include Snookie's infamous slutty little dressys along with her now retired "poof", The Situation's over-exposed abs attatched to a black wifebeater that reads "The Situation", a gelled-out wig for DJ Pauly D along with headphones and an outfit that closely resembles that of The Situation, only not quiet as buff.

The line is available at Costume Craze. The costumes range in price from $14.99-$29.99. Pre-orders are being taken on the official website,

Are you planning on dressing up as your favorite whore/manwhore from The Jersey Shore this Halloween? Are you willing to shell out some cash, or are you planning to just make your own costume? Personally I think these costumes are a waste of money, as they seem pretty easy to replicate with at-home products.
