It's Snooki...I mean "Nicole".

Nicole Polizzi, known to most as simply, "Snooki" on MTV's The Jersey Shore, wants to forget about the nickname that helped to make her so famous. In an article posted by US Weekly, Polizzi stated, "I miss people calling me Nicole".

Calling the star of the Jersey Shore by her real name just doesn't seem natural. When the show debuted in the summer of 2009, Nicole went by her memorable nickname of "Snooki" and wore her signature "poof". She appeared to be more of a character than an actual person. She has since lost the poof, and with the loss of her nickname, is becoming more realistic and relatable. This poses the question, will a more realistic Jersey Shore character still be interesting?

A majority of the other characters on the show have nicknames as well, such as DJ Pauly D, The Situation, and Sammi Sweetheart. These nicknames help to give the cast an identity and make them more memorable. Those characters that are without a nickname, such as Ronnie and Vinny have not managed to garner nearly as much popularity as their nicknamed counterparts. Without her nickname, will Nicole still be as popular and relevant to the show, or will she sink back into a state of forgettable normalcy?

Levi Johnston to Run for Mayor of Wasilla?

Both Tmz.com and Perezhilton.com are reporting that Levi Johnston is planning on running for mayor of his hometown, Wasilla. Of course Johnston is not doing it because of his raging love and interest for politics and the people of Wasilla. Johnston could care less about the people of his hometown. He's just doing it for publicity and hopes of generating high viewership for his new reality show! In fact, Perezhilton.com is reporting that it was not even Johnston's idea to run to begin with. He's just doing it at the suggestion of his reality show's producer!

Disgusting.

Would you like to see Johnston as mayor of Wasilla? Do you believe he would actually make a good politician? What about his reality show? Do any of you actually care to see it? Personally I think Johnston's 15 minutes of fame ended a looooong time ago and I would be really surprised if he actually won the election and if his reality show actually became a success.

Twitter to be made into a TV show?

Yes, sadly it's true. The social networking site and celeb-crazed site Twitter will be getting it's own television series. It is still unknown as to which TV station will air it or when it will be aired, but the show is said to cover the lives of tweeters. I think this show is doomed. Seriously, who cares about the lives of tweeters? According to TMZ.com, as of the time this blog is being posted, 92% of TMZ's readers feel that this show will be a lame epic failure and only 22% of the readers even have a twitter account. *Sigh*. I think it's best for social networking sites to just stick to the web.
